Covington, King County, Washington, 98042
Covington is in King County’s southwestern corner. The city is bounded to the west by Kent, to the southwest by Auburn, and to the east by Maple Valley. At the time of the 2020 census, the population was 20,777. With its quick population expansion since incorporation, the retail industry accounts for a large portion of the city’s income. The city’s retail center, which was built primarily in the 2000s, is located along the SR-516 corridor. Walmart, Kohl’s, Costco, and The Home Depot are among the retailers in the retail core. Covington is also a major medical hub for southeast King County, with facilities owned by MultiCare Health Systems and Valley Medical Center.
